Concord Adex introduces “Central” Ontario’s First 100% EV Parking
The development, in downtown Toronto, is Ontario’s first residential building to offer 100% EV parking and the Concord Green Energy generates all the energy needed to offset it.
Central, Concord’s future-proof, sustainable living tech development in downtown Toronto, is Ontario’s first residential building to offer 100% EV parking and the green energy to offset it. Central provides a sustainable foundation for the development’s high-tech residents and amenities.
Part of Concord’s Penthouse Collection, Central is a 52-storey condominium featuring 100% WiFi connectivity, state-of-the-art conference rooms and refrigerated parcel storage. Located within Toronto’s tech hub, Central’s amenities are inspired by innovation and interconnectivity.
“Central is the epicentre of the hi-tech live/work trend and the embodiment of future living,” said Isaac Chan, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Concord Adex. “Our everyday interactions are predicated on interconnectivity; Central’s innovative amenities and cutting-edge conveniences are a glimpse into the future.”
Congruent with the City of Toronto’s Electric Vehicle Strategy, one of many initiatives informing Toronto’s approach to sustainable transportation, Central marks the first condo in the province to offer EV charging outlets in every parking stall. As such, from now until the month of August, Concord — in partnership with Porsche Centre Downtown Toronto — will offer purchasers of a Central penthouse the keys to a brand new 2021 Taycan, Porsche’s first electronic vehicle.
Other tech-focused attributes include Central’s extra wide hi-speed WiFi that will cover all amenities, elevators and the parkade, so that residents will never drop a call; Innovative conference rooms with the most advanced office equipment; Near-field communications (NFC) building entryways offering convenient, touch-less yet secure access via mobile device; Smart thermostat technology built into every suite so residents can program their home temperature with ease from anywhere; Refrigerated parcel storage to keep groceries chilled from the moment they are delivered.
In addition to the above luxuries, Central’s shared amenities include an iconic glass bottom hot tub, indoor/outdoor swimming pool with a giant outdoor theatre screen, state-of-the-art gym facilities and equipment, a yoga/pilates studio, formal dining room, golf simulator room, bocce field, outdoor fire pit and BBQ seating area.
Committed to smart building systems, Concord aims to make its buildings more energy efficient and with its Concord Green Energy projects, Concord generates twice the green power used by all its communities. Central’s progressive 100% EV parking infrastructure is a big step towards sustainable infrastructure and future living. With eight solar and four wind projects in Ontario and other green energy projects of scale across Canada, Concord generates more than enough energy to power 175,000 EV vehicles annually.
